"They say life is a journey," said Chapola. He said long service awards were a staff retention strategy Nico uses to ensure that skills and technical expertise are retained within the company.
"We all agree that employees are the company's most priced resource and that is why we will continue to invest in everyone's career development in Nico General," said Chapola.
He described Nico General as the 'benchmark' general ' insurance company on both the local and regional market, saying this was why the company had 'exported' expertise to other companies.
Speaking on behalf of fellow retirees, Mthini - who has worked for 43 years, thanked Nico for taking care of them during their working life."We know that it would not be easy for some of us to suddenly spent idle time at home when we are used to waking up and going to work every day. But with time, we will adjust and start enjoying our retirement and cherish the years of good service to the company," said Mthini.
